The infrastructure works were not limited to but include mains incoming services, access and hard/soft landscaping. The new ring mains service feeds included HV and LV cabling and the de-commissioning of existing overhead power lines, gas, water, cctv and communications ducts to link the new facility to the Universities central control in the City of Oxford.
Within the project over 7500 m2 of research buildings has been constructed with an Innovative Design to provide current and future flexibility to meet the diverse requirements and occupation by the various University departments and businesses.
The general construction processes include steel framed structures with composite concrete floors, long spanning composite cladding and cedar envelopes with high quality windows and curtain walling. The internal finishes provided for high quality functional cores areas featuring ceramic tiled floors, lifts, carpeted staircases and feature lighting.
