Booker Park Community School, Aylesbury

Booker Park Community, Aylesbury, consisted of five main areas, classroom block administration block, multi sensory theatre and hydrotherapy pool plus the refurbishment and physical connection of two smaller schools already occupying the site.

All of the areas are linked with internal corridors.The new buildings are a steel frame construction clad with various components including curtain walling, cedar boarding, Sto render and facing brickwork.
Internally, partitions are generally metal stud with "Sound-bloc" plasterboard with painted surfaces. Special hygiene areas are fully tiled. The 13metre x 7.5 metre hydrotherapy pool is again fully tiled and has an adjustable floor to control the depth of the pool to a maximum of 1.2metres.
The Multi Sensory Theatre is an unusually shaped building with curved walls and specialist mood lighting and colours to provide a relaxing atmosphere for autistic children.
Externally there are soft tarmac play areas with various climbing frames and equipment.
