13/5/14 - Time capsule uncovered on a Kingerlee site!

Time Capsule Kingerlee Marlborough School Woodstock Project

During our renovation works at the Marlborough School, Woodstock we uncovered a time capsule that had been hidden in the building fabric for nearly 75 years.

Located behind the original commemorative stone plaque dated 1939 the cylindrical time capsule was exposed and handed to the school.

Upon opening we found a number of interesting objects including medals, coins and various papers, parish magazine and the original fundraising campaign and building plans.

The original school was built for a budget of circa £13k!

Experts from the Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock are trying to identify some of the coins along with the origin of a small badge shaped as the Star of David.
