An Update from The High Street Project

With 2026 well underway, we are pleased to share an update on our works at The High Street Project.

This exciting collaboration with All Souls College, The University of Oxford will deliver essential academic spaces, improve accessibility, strengthen connections to the Covered Market, and sensitively restore original features of the historic façade.

Since our last update, including the discovery of a medieval sub-cellar, works have focused on internal soft strip-out, sub-cellar clearance, and utility disconnections. Soft strip-out is now underway in Units 10–15, progressing from the upper floors downwards in preparation for refurbishment.

The sub-cellar has been cleared of redundant equipment, with temporary propping to follow ahead of demolition works. Upcoming activities include removal of the basement concrete slab to allow archaeological investigations, with a conveyor system and temporary footpath closures in place to ensure public safety.

More updates on this fascinating project coming soon.
