We are pleased to share that our Special Projects team has achieved practical completion at St Andrew’s School in Berkshire. Pictured are Ben, Contracts Manager, and Dan, Site Manager, handing over the keys to the Head Master, Ed Graham.
The project involved converting a 1980s school sports hall into a modern performing arts venue, with careful scheduling to ensure the protection of a bat roost. Works included upgrading the mechanical and electrical systems, as well as installing specialist theatre equipment. A new control booth was suspended from the existing steels, and a state-of-the-art retractable seating unit accommodating up to 200 individuals was installed below. The old foyer was also redeveloped, featuring a new staircase and a full fit out.
“We have enjoyed working with Kingerlee to complete this important project for the school. The team, led by Ben and Dan, understood the demands of working in the heart of a busy school site and they demonstrated a constructive and collaborative approach as we addressed issues together at each stage. The pupils and staff are thrilled with the finished product and they will greatly enjoy using it for years to come.” - (David Palmer, Estates Bursar)
We are proud to have delivered this carefully executed transformation. Well done to everyone involved in bringing the project to a successful completion.
