Beckley Village Hall
Client: Beckley and Stowood Village Parish Council
The Beckley Village Hall project is a community project undertaken for the Beckley and Stowood Village Parish Council.
The project involved the demolition of the existing terrapin building and construction of a new single-storey village hall complete with kitchen, storage and changing facilities.
The substructure consists of concrete strip foundations and brickwork below a beam and block floor. The external superstructure was constructed using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) supported with structural steel, blockwork internal walls. The external facade is finished with Cedar cladding, green and single-ply membrane roof finishes, exhibition gabion walls and aluminium framed glazing.
Internally the building is finished with plasterboard and skim coat all painted. The floor finishes range between engineered timber flooring, vinyl, and paving slabs on top of a sand and cement screed with underfloor heating.
The external work involved landscaping and planting to formed beds and down the gabion walls, a new car park and gated fencing to the adjacent sports field.
